Use our resources to prepare your students

Teachers must prepare their students for the stream study field trip, but EcoSpark can help with this too. There are two parts to this preparation:

1. Building the stream analysis into a broader issue you are studying in class.

Topics could include:
  • ecology
  • waste management
  • storm-water protection
  • urban sprawl
  • biodiversity
  • city planning
  • human health, etc.
2. Preparing students for the technical aspects of the stream study field trip by:

A. helping them learn why monitoring is important,

B. helping them learn the bio-monitoring protocols, and

C. helping them learn to identify the benthos.
